I just received scleral contact lenses to help me not be blind anymore. I have a condition called keratoconus where my cornea has thinned and caused the cornea to be shaped like cones. It affects 1 in 1000 Americans.
For more information, visit the National Keratoconus Foundation and learn more about how to diagnose and manage this disease.
Now, I just got these lenses. These lense are quite large and though I could gross someone out by just removing the lenses. I incorrectly tried to remove the right eye lens and the results are a little gross. I was not hurt in the making of this video.
I got the lenses out AFTER this video was taken and everything was alright. Lesson learned.
