Big news for Who fans like me.

Not only will The Who be touring again soon, but they’ll be playing Quadrophenia, my all-time favorite album.  Plus, they’re performing at the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics.  For me, that’s probably the only part of the Olympics I’ll be watching.

The tour starts November 1 in Sunrise, Florida, and the first leg wraps at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on December 9.  They’ll pick it up again in Anaheim on January 28, and conclude with a show in Providence, Rhode Island.

About that Providence Show…Back in 1979, The Who was scheduled for a show there, but their mayor cancelled it after a stampede in Cincinnati killed 11 people. Since then, the band hasn’t returned to Providence.  Well, if you're still holding onto your ticket from that 1979 show, you can redeem it to see the Who then they finally play there on February 26.

Once again, Zak Starkey will be behind the kit, and Pino Palladino stands in for The Ox.

Some dates within reasonable driving distance:

 11/11 –Pittsburgh

11/13 – Washington, DC

12/5 – NYC

12/6 – Newark

12/8 – Philadelphia

2/22 – Atlantic City

I wonder how many I can afford to see.  Well, that’s a question for another day.  I’m on vacation starting in 3…2…1.  Talk to you again on the 30th.
